Trees Plantation Drive at Delhi Technological University, New Delhi

Swasthya Vriksh Abhiyaan – DTU Green 100

स्वास्थ्य वृक्ष अभियान - दिल्ली प्रौद्योगिकी विश्वविद्यालय

At 11:00 AM, more than 100+ DTU student volunteers and faculty members came together to plant 150 Ayush trees across the campus. These trees, known for their medicinal and ecological benefits, will contribute to better air quality, health, and long-term sustainability.

  • The entire plantation area has been geo-tagged, and the database of all 150 trees has been entered into the GLUF central system for regular monitoring, updates, and measurement of their ecological and economic impact. This ensures that every sapling is tracked scientifically, with transparent data on survival, growth, oxygen generation, CO₂ absorption, and long-term value creation.

Collectively, the plantation is expected to:

  • Generate ~12,000 kg of oxygen annually, supporting nearly 800 people

  • Absorb ~1,200 kg of CO₂ each year, improving Delhi’s air quality

The plantation drive was graced by the Registrar of DTU, senior faculty members, and youth leaders from GLUF. The event concluded with students taking a Green Pledge to care for the saplings — making this plantation not just symbolic, but a scientifically managed, economically valuable, long-term environmental commitment.

Green Lungs Universal Foundation Tree Plantation Drive in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad, August 12, 2025 – Green Lungs Universal Foundation successfully organized a tree plantation drive in Ghaziabad, where more than 100 saplings and trees were planted with the collective efforts of 20 enthusiastic youth volunteers and the leadership of Vatsal Joshi, Aditya Srivastava, Shubh Chaudhary, and Ishita Chaudhary.

The drive focused on planting native and climate-resilient species to strengthen the city’s green cover, improve air quality, and contribute to long-term sustainability. Volunteers worked tirelessly alongside local community members, ensuring every sapling was carefully planted and nurtured.

Speaking about the initiative, Vatsal Joshi, Co-Founder of Green Lungs Universal Foundation, said:
“This is more than just planting trees — it’s about planting responsibility, awareness, and a greener vision for the future. Our volunteers truly brought energy and purpose to today’s drive.”

Shubh Chaudhary, Co-Founder, added:
“Youth leadership combined with community action is our greatest strength. Together, we can reverse climate challenges and create living spaces that breathe.”

Aditya Srivastava, Co-Founder, emphasized:
“Planting trees is only the beginning — the real change lies in nurturing them and inspiring others to join the movement. Every sapling today is a promise for a cleaner, healthier tomorrow.”

The plantation drive is part of Green Lungs Universal Foundation’s broader mission to combat pollution, fight climate change, and build sustainable urban ecosystems. With youth at the helm and mentors guiding the journey, the foundation continues to expand its reach and inspire eco-action across regions.
